First of all I would like to add one of my own experience here, well one year on valentines just like any other year I wished many people (both boys and girls). While doing so a gentleman in about his late 50's came and told me that you should only wish valentines day to girls and that to in particular those whom you really like. I was shocked at hearing this. I really wanted to quarrel with him then and there but then left the thought.
I don't think that there is any harm is wishing anyone a happy valentine, it's the same as saying good morning except that it can be said only on one day of the year whereas the former N number of times.
In the post there it asks how do you celebrate valentines day, we'll here is how I do it, I wish one and all.
One thing does bother me a lot you end up getting so many texts and emails, as if it's not love day but business day!
I also strongly oppose who say it should not be celebrated. Many of them will argue that it spoils our culture and all, well here is a simple fact to those who say this,
Karmasutra originated from the west, it was brought to India and we accepted it! Wake up people our culture was and still is far more advanced than theirs and all this nonsense about destruction of culture is utter rubbish.
Sorry for such harsh words but it is a fact and the sooner we accept it the better.
I personally feel that we all should celebrate this day, come on people, we find reasons to celebrate, to have a nice meal etc... And here we are given one, but we end up doing the reverse, not only spoil ours but others also (I am talking about those who oppose the celebrations of this day). At the same time we should also respect the freedom that we get, and stay in our limits while we celebrate this day. Make sure that rules aren't broken etc...
